While you operate the machine, the cutting line becomes shorter. You can adjust the length of the cutting line depending on the product advance type. For example, if you have a Bump Feeding Trimmer, tap the trimmers head against the ground while you operate the machine. The line will automatically release and the cut off blade will trim the line. To advance a line on an Auto-Feed trimmer, you will need to click the trigger located on the handle several times. (Do not pull on the string as it will tighten on the spool and this will cause the line not to come out. If still having an issue with the line remove the spool cover and the spool, unwind the spool a little and reinstall, and the try the unit again.)

Customers can order pre-wound spools by calling us here at the office. If their spool is still in good shape, they can purchase just the line from hardware stores such as Lowes and Canadian Tire.

If the serial number is GWA = 2021 or newer 0.095” can be used, if older use 0.080” line. Check in the manual under the line diameter section to find the size of line to use for the unit.

Both our and Ryobi attachments are compatible. Please reach out to a customer experience agent for a list.
