In just a little over a month, a sporty-hearted girl named Chelsea Willis will march into a packed stadium in Athens, Greece and shout the well known Special Olympics oath... “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
The Bethesda Arkansas native, Chelsea, will be among the 7,500 athletes from 185 countries competing in the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games. Those who are natives of this area and even the state of Arkansas know that Bethesda is a very small community. Such a monumental feat by miss Chelsea Willis is uplifting for so many in her hometown and even throughout the state. She has to be swelling up with pride, and that will not soon go away with all the support pouring in for her much deserved trip. She had several people turn out at a surprise pep rally Monday morning to wish her luck. This all took place just before she was to leave out for her amazing journey. Her parents were the leaders of her pep rally surprise, and Chelsea said when she saw her parents at the school, she couldn’t help but wonder what they were doing there.
Well, Miss Chelsea Willis, they were there to show their love and appreciation for you and to wish you the best on your honored quest. Now let all of us at Bad Boy Mowers wish you the best of luck and let you know that we are proud of you as well. Good Luck!
