And In The Beginning, There Was Valarie.

This is a brief, yet interesting story, about a big piece of the Bad Boy backbone.  Her name is Valarie Martin.  She has been a part of everything that the company of Bad Boy Mowers is made of.  As far back as you can remember, Valarie has been there.

Valarie started working for Phil Pulley and Robert Foster when they were the owners of a local business named Wholesale Tire.  She worked in the offices overseeing all the accounts and was no stranger to hard work.  She was not only a big part of the core of the company, but she was also a face that everyone grew to know and love.  It was always easy for people to deal with Valarie on a professional level as well as a personal one.  She was “that” person that everyone wanted to say “Hello” to when they had the chance.  It was these types of values that made it easy for Valarie to make the transition into Bad Boy Mowers.

In 1998, Bad Boy Mowers exploded onto the scene, and Valarie Martin was right there with them.  Phil moved her over to the new company after he and Robert Foster started Bad Boy Mowers.  She quickly became an office face for the thriving company, and her dedication made her position irreplaceable.  Although not a big fan of it, Valarie quickly became known as Bad Boy Mower’s “Queen Bee”.  Anyone that worked within or even dealt with the company from the outside knew who the Queen Bee was.  Don’t let the name fool you though.  It’s hard for her to accept the given office name due to the incredible humble qualities that she possesses.  She works hard and gives unlimited respect to those that work around her.  She might be buried up in work, but that never stops her from being able to lend a hand if you are in need.

On a little personal level, during the process of Bad Boy Mower’s development, Valarie was able to juggle the work load and start a family.  Valarie married Jimmy Martin in 1997 and later had two beautiful girls.  Her family has been a part of Bad Boy Mowers from the ground up.  That’s one of the great things about working for Bad Boy.  You are not just an employee, you are a part of a large family.  It’s not unusual to see Valarie working in her office some days while her daughters sit beside her desk coloring and waiting for the end of “mommy’s” day.  At Bad Boy, everyone sort of adopts each other’s kids.  We are truly one big happy family.  There’s just something to be said about a company that you can feel at home with even when you are not at your home.

Valarie Martin has been, is, and will always be a strong piece of the foundation within Bad Boy Mowers.  There are few people that one can say they’ll never forget over time, but I can promise you that Valarie is that person for all of us at Bad Boy and everyone else that knows her.  If you are ever in the offices of Bad Boy Mowers, do yourself a favor and drop by to offer a “Hello” to our Queen Bee.  It’s something you’ll not soon forget.
