B-Town Beat Down Results

Saturday Nights B-Town Beat down event featured 7 electrifying bouts which included three TKO victories. The first bout featured Daniel Foxworth of Pine Bluff squaring off against Willie Bryant of Mayflower. In the quickest fight of the night, Bryant ended the contest with a barrage of punches in minute 2:52 of the fight. After the fight Bryant said that the way Foxworth came out heavy probably contributed to the Round 1 TKO. Willie admitted that he felt a little off to start and needed to work on his footwork before his next fight in New York. Bout 2 featured our only female fight of the evening. Kristen Foster of Batesville was able to dominate Savanna Hill of Pottsville. Though Kristen would have liked to finish it, she was able to score a unanimous decision while controlling every round of the fight. In fact most of the damage done to Kristen came off of incidental head butts throughout the fight. Kristen now plans to take a couple of months off before returning to the ring.

The third fight of the evening proved to be a hard punching affair as Cody Williams of Fordyce scored a 2nd round TKO on Joey Crawford of Ravenden. At the start of the bout there was a huge advantage for Crawford using his height. That advantage was quickly negated as Williams found a good way to get inside and land several hard shots. Williams admits that Crawford seemed a little taller at the weigh-in then he had appeared before. Williams also said that he got a little too wild and needed to calm down but was very pleased with the win. In the fourth fight, Erick Hernandez-Perez was slated to fight Danny Garcia of Houston, TX. Both fighters came out swinging and fought neck and neck the whole way through. In the end the judges couldn’t pick a winner and rewarded both fighters with a draw. Hernandez was excited to be in such a tough fight with the much more experienced Garcia (10-7-2). Hernandez said that the thing he needs to work on more than anything was his defense. In particular, he needs to keep his hands up and keep better head movement through the fight. Hernandez better work quick however as he is set to fight again in Tunica in just about a month.

The fifth fight was also a tough fight as Aaron Slusser of Imboden fought James Frazier of Floral. Despite some early body work that almost downed Slusser he was able to rally and gain a unanimous decision victory. Slusser who complained of being tired before the fight wants to work on cutting the ring off from his opponents. The next to last fight of the evening included a pair of fighters who were making their professional debut. During the third round Rogelio Casarez scored a TKO victory over Andrew Hughey. After walking Andrew down for the previous two and a half rounds, Hughey seemed defenseless and his corner quickly threw in the towel. The main event featured Dominique Azeez against Josh Williams of Batesville. Azeez who has over thirty professional fights came out hard in the first landing a few big shots along the way. In the second, Azeez even began to showboat a little bit standing right in front of Williams. Williams kept busy though and behind a strong jab began to find holes in Azeez’s defense. He kept the pressure on and kept circling to his right and dominated the action the last four rounds of the fight. Williams looked to be in great shape and at the end of the night had another unanimous decision under his belt. Williams said that an eight round fight is in the works for his next fight.
